Senior Police Officer Douglas Griffith is a Native Houstonian and a graduate of North Shore High School. He graduated Academy Class 142 and was assigned to the Southeast Command Station in 1991. During his twenty five years of service with the department, he dedicated twenty years to the Gang Task Force and Divisional Gang Unit. The last four years he has served as a member of the Southeast Tactical Operations D.G.U. He is married to his lovely wife Susan with four children, Cole, Jack, Sarah, and Rebecca. He earned a Masters in Law Enforcement Executive Leadership from California Southern. Doug was elected to position 11 in 2008 to succeed a dear friend, Rodney J. Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty on September 21st, 2006. In 2012 Doug was appointed to the position of Vice President to succeed retired Senior Police Officer J. J. Berry.
